Fringe Meadery started up in the fall of 2014, releasing its first bottles and draft kegs in the summer of 2015. Brand new and just getting its first products on store shelves and bar taps, Fringe now is fully underway and has many releases in store over the coming months.

Nathan Mattis is the meadmaker and founder of Fringe.

He is trained in the art of fine winemaking and holds a Masters degree in Viticulture & Enology from U.C. Davis in California.  He has worked at different wineries in all facets of production, from pumping out large scale volumes of red wine in central Washington to nursing small batches of premium Chardonnay in Napa Valley.

 

Last night, as I was sleeping,
I dreamt—marvelous error!—
that I had a beehive
here inside my heart.

And the golden bees
